When I record shows on ABC. They are recording at 720. I'm pretty sure it's a 1080 output though. Am I wrong? And if it is, what do I need to do to make sure I record at 1080?

ABC and FOX broadcast in 720p in 99% of the USA.
The DVR records the raw stream from the antenna and makes no changes to the original feed.
How do sources of ABC shows of 1080 show up online then? Are they ripped from Hulu or something?
Yes they must be coming from a different online source which is not over OTA/Cable.
