1080p display

Good morning! I had channels dvr desktop (720p) for a while now. I decided to go with channels dvr cloud because it’s 1080p. I’ve set some recordings from Amazon or dish and there all coming out 720p. I have the server set to highest quality HD but still the same

Your are confusing ChannelsDVR with a service called PlayOn. ChannelsDVR can use PlayOn as a source to download PlayOn recordings. If you are not getting the resolution you are expecting from those recordings then you will need to contact PlayOn support. Get the most out of PlayOn with free tech support.

Open the PlayOn Cloud app on your phone or tablet and confirm that the video quality is set to Full HD.

lol yes, I am I'm sorry for that.

That was it thanks

So I changed resolution from 720p to 1080p on mobile. If I record a show off my desktop playon will it be 1080p or 720p

You need to use the mobile app to set up the recordings.
You will be notified when the recordings are done and available in the cloud.

After the recordings are available, you can log in to your account on a desktop PC and download your recordings to your computer. The downloaded videos will be in Full HD 1080p.
You can also download them to your phone or tablet in the app, if you want.

Even better: you can add the PlayOn Cloud source in Channels DVR and it will automatically download your PlayOn recordings into your Channels DVR library. It checks every 2 hours to see if new recordings are available in your PlayOn Cloud account.

There is a difference between recording from the desktop and downloading to your desktop from the cloud recordings. If I understand what you're asking, the desktop playon version doesn't do 1080p. You can only get that from the app recording to the cloud.

But, if you are just downloading the recordings you made via the app, then yes, those will download the 1080p version.
