2 DVRs swap between them?

Hello out there,
I know i've done this and i'm having trouble replicating the steps... a little insight please?
status

  • two PCs different places
  • different HD homruns
  • Different ISPs.

goal:
to swap DVRs (AWAY FROM HOME sign in)

did it before i know i need to...

  • turn off Channels DVR on one computer so that only one is running
  • sign in (apple tv / ipad/ iphone etc) using away from home to see those channels/recordings...
now want to swap to other computer
  • turn one off and other one (channels dvr) on and re-sign in to channels plus using away from home....

issue..
its not seeing the other computer.. (its looking for the one turned off hence if i turn it back on everything works great) but i know i have done this before i'm forgetting a step or something... how do i get it to see the other computer (again with only one dvr running.)? restore command didnt seem to do it.. dont want to uninstall and reinstall... i have stopped the engine (then made sure it wasnt a back ground source to i can use icon and stop as i need to an allow or prevent at start up as i desire)....

this is what i mean how do i refresh where its pointed to????

Remote Access

xxxxxxxx.channelsdvr.net is pointed at 76.216.17.94 but the current IP for this system is 198.52.235.65

thanks in advance.

Sounds like a port forwarding issue. Either due to VPN running, or a double-NAT due to multiple routers chained together.

I assume my.channelsdvr.net doesn't load? And portchecker.co says 8089 is closed?

Thanks :grin::grin:
I believe he missing step was reboot computer you want to use....and yep it worked

So.. (windows pc) (don’t run as background service ..which I like to do) just run normal ( you will see in icon tray)

Right click icon(s) disable run at start up on computer you no longer want to use.
Right click icon enable run on start up on one you do want to use
Exit one you don’t want to use....
Reboot the one you want to use ( this “points away at it”)
And that’s the one working....

Again why? If you want to see local channels of one place while in another / transit between to areas let’s say.... allows you to keep up to date with local stuff while away..

Dang this channels is great ! Awesome support as always thank you very much !

Food for thought....

If you could set up “auto change channel” instead of record a show just have it go to that channel at that time...

And ability to search channel...and select.... might be alternative to not being able to enter channel number .....
