25 vs free for the app

I have a subscription and have for a few years., My Elderly Neighbor cannot afford a subscription every month. If she buys the 25-dollar app will she be able to watch and record Antenna TV? Or what will it do for her
thanks

Channels: Whole Home DVR is for use with paid subscription

Channels - for HDHomerun is just to watch Live TV via HDHR network tuner.
It does not support recording (DVR), which is only a thing with Paid Subscription and dedicated Channels DVR running on a host system.
(This shows as $24.99 in the Android App Store)

As I thought. I will let her know -- thanks

So odd I see this topic today because just last night I was getting a friend to try out Channels and he asked me which app he needed to download and when I said "the free one", he said they were both free and sure enough, when I looked (Apple app store) the 'non-free' one was free. Regardless, I got him squared away and then I looked at Android out of curiosity and it still shows $25.

So, why is Apple free and Android $25? Doesn't matter to me since I'm doing the DVR sub, just curious.

The iOS app used to cost an additional $15 but was made free.

Apple if free and Android is not? Seem unfair, why is that?

A single purchase of the Android app gets both Android TV and mobile Android versions. It’s equitable.

Previously on iOS, it was not. Now it is.
