I use this as a home server and it’s amazing. It’s a little overkill for using just Channels DVR, but if you have more needs than just Channels DVR, it’s a great box to throw a bunch of things on.
I grabbed one too (the BNH) and its great.
@maddox, are you using an external drive? If so, do you have it plugged into one of the USB 3.0 ports; or into the USB-C/USB 3.1 Gen 2/Thunderbolt port?
Also, what OS are you running?
I ask because my WD MyBook Duo seems to be flawless when plugged into the USB 3.0 ports and has disconnect issues when plugged into the USB-C port.
It looks like there is a thunderbolt update that I haven’t taken because it requires windows.
Note: other than the disconnect issues (which seem to be easily worked around by plugging into a USB 3.0 port), I love this NUC. Com skip take < 1/3 of the time and I got to dump my QNAP (which I hated).
