ABC and Fox on Fios TVE not working?

ABC is reporting that it’s live stream is not currently available via fios, which is surprising. Is there some on-going dispute between the two? (Error appears in the ABC iOS app as well as a 1039 error)

Fox however is resulting in:

[ERR] Could not start stream for TVE-Verizon ch6002 FOX: TVE: unknown channel: fox

These appear to be distinct issues, but I’m puzzled why they both cropped up simultaneously.

Update: via the fios tv app on iOS, I can stream FOX5 (WTTG DC) but not FOX45 (WBFF Baltimore) FOX 45’s stream in the app is labeled: “this channel is available for viewing on your fios tv box only”

Likewise, the ABC stations in DC and Baltimore are both listed with that same message. I guess Verizon isn’t ponying up to ABC in general, but it would be nice to add the fox5 stream in lieu of the fox45 to channels.

How about DIY? I too am a fios user, my fox is working, but can't get DIY in.

I live in Baltimore and get both of those Fox channels (WTTG and WBFF), perfectly, using an antenna. I also get all ABC, CBS, NBC, CW, and PBS stations from both DC and Baltimore perfectly (100% symbol quality).

So, if you live in this area, these channels are completely free, perfect quality, and don't require FIOS or TVE at all.

I contemplated adding an hdhomerun at the beginning of my switch from TiVo to channels. But, shortly after I set up my server, each of the 4 major networks became available via TVE. I guess if half are bailing, I need to decide whether to get locast or an hdhomerun.

HDHR channels are a better experience than TVE. They tune faster, and are higher quality. Can channel surf easily. Compskip is sceaming fast (at least for my mpeg2 OTA streams). The whole system just feels snappier and more refined.

So, imo, hdhr is a better choice than locast. If trying to save money, there are other ways to get back the cost of an hdhr. If you live in the DC/Baltimore area, you probably don't need the FIOS cable package even. We get around 100 OTA channels, free. Just get a $40 RCA Yagi antenna and a HDHR Quatro.
