Man this sucks, just really sucks. We were all wondering when this shoe would drop and this is the big one.
I would suggest investigating something like prismcast, a new project here that replaces Chrome capture for channels and is much more configurable. If the ESPN family still works through the browser it will keep working there.
I have my local ABC affiliate configured there, and it's still working. Now I'll have to add all the ESPN channels.
The sucky part is that channels seamlessly handled all the reauthentication that was needed, and this will have to be done manually now through the browser. You're never going to know when a stream's not going to work because you have to reauthenticate. My workaround so far for stuff like HDMI for channels has been to have a test recording run every morning on these channels which I check and fix if I have to reauthenticate, but that gets unwieldy when you keep adding more and more channels.
Edit: from what I can see it doesn't look like there's a way to play the ESPN linear channels at ESPN.com, maybe I'm wrong but it looks like you have to play individual live shows. There's no simple live channel link for ESPN, 2, etc.
Prismcast can get them from Disney Plus but that's a $36 a month subscription, no thanks. I'm already paying for ESPN through my provider.

I wonder if this can be used to snag the stream right from Hulu, YouTube tv, or providers website directly.
I can still access ESPN and the likes through the FIOS web browser/streams. Interesting that this would break. Are we sure that its a complete TVe abandoned or not simply a fix that can be applied?

I don't see the free abcnews regional channels any more on Sling Freestream, nor do I see them through the Pluto app.

Interesting development. I've just started with Channels, love it, but I don't really love any of the Disney channels so I just downgraded my Sling subscription. Thanks for all the insight!

That's not a live channel from what I can see, it's the current live program. Not a linear program like I said, please correct me if I'm wrong but when I play it it has a clearly defined end not showing as live.
