Trying to watch the Lakers @ Celtics game on ABC, AppleTV will not play, keeps spinning trying to load. Logs submitted 3d83a683-b3f5-4a11-b730-b2cf7eaba36e
Appears to be an issue with ATSC3 as the ATSC1 feed works on AppleTV fine. Updated logs a1cf83aa-f445-4afb-930b-ca8335ae292e
Still ongoing. Updated HDHomerun firmware to beta hoping that might resolve the issue, but no luck. Any thoughts @Maddox or @Eric?
Never rely on ATSC 3.0. It's still a giant science experiment.
Channels DVR has a problem with handling audio in ATSC 3.0 try the HDHomeRun APP and see how it plays. At the moment of you use Channels DVR exclusively stick to ATSC 1.
Terrible suggestion, but thanks for playing.
HDHomerun app is having issues with that channel, too. Was just hoping the devs have seen this issue before and knew a possible workaround.
In my area, the one ATSC3.0 station has only been reliably working for the last 6 months. Before that it would have problems for weeks at a time. I have to agree with the other person that it is somewhat experimental at this time. The workaround is use ATSC1.0 like Edwin_Perez mentioned.
What is your signal strength, signal quality, and symbol quality?
Just because ATSC 1.0 works doesn't mean that 3.0 is going to behave the same. I am 11 miles from the towers and actually have to attenuate my 1.0 HDHR because the signal is WAY too hot. However my 3.0 HDHR struggles to get 70% signal strength (and is not attenuated). The reason is that in my market, 3.0 is run off of a low power transmitter. It may not be what you want to hear but ATSC 3.0 is a science experiment. Now I don't have any of the problems @Edwin_Perez has though. I have perfect 5.1 audio that is as good or better than its 1.0 counterpart and Channels handles it all beautify on my ATV. Volume is perfect on all 3.0 stations as well. Unless you can't physically tune the 1.0 station and have to rely on 3.0, I wouldn't stress too much about it. You aren't getting anything more with 3.0. For me it's actually worse with live sporting events, completely unwatchable.
It's the truth in many areas, not necessarily everywhere though. The NBC affiliate near me also started encrypting, so I can't get it on any app, including the HDHR app. I get a screen of green gibberish and pixelation then it crashes Channels DVR completely within 15 seconds or so. The HDHR app simply gives up after that time and shows an error msg.
Did you look at the HDHomeRun Audio settings and pick the one that closely matches your Soundsystem ?
on my main system I use digital pass through ... on my laptop stereo.

I agree that ATSC3 is experimental at this stage, and I have been falling back on ATSC1 for several weeks. However, it behooves us to test these experimental features before they roll out to the public releases.
Sounds like a broadcast or firmware issue if the official app doesn't work either. You will have to contact and work with [email protected]
Agreed. I updated the firmware to beta to see if it made a difference, but no. Must be a broadcast issue. Thanks again.
