This is one that won't impact most, but it probably impacts a reasonable percentage of people.

EG I'm recording the NCAA Selection show this Sunday:

I would love to have Channels default to either 790 or 783, by default. Perhaps, even on a per-pass basis (but i know this has been asked about before, and shot down).

I have 2 affiliates, and one of them is significantly better video/audio-wise. That being said, i would prefer not to have to manage a favorite/etc, as there are affiliate-specific programs that get recorded often.

I’m not following you.. looks like those two channels are going to be the first used for the recording. Can you elaborate a bit?

Meaning, i would love to tell channels to use either 790 or 783, by default, when it has a multi-channel choice from the same network with same program.

Maybe it makes more sense if i elaborate:

790 is the Hartford CBS affiliate (I think - actually have a request for callsigns too - lol)
783 is the NY CBS affiliate.

In instances where they are showing the same thing, i would like the NY affiliate picked first, due to better PQ / AQ. The problem is, Channels only lets you prioritize by source, not within one

I know if you set a pass, you can specify the channel from the web interface for the DVR. I’m not sure if the same functionality is baked into the GUI for individual one off recordings or not. The only potential issue with this is I don’t know what happens if that channel is unavailable; is Channels smart enough to default to another station with that show or because you’ve specifies a specific channel it’s an all or none response.

Right - that's my main issue. I can force an individual channel, but they i lose the multi-source redundancy. I want both.

Should work if you set 783 as a Favorite channel. I would like to know what happens if both 783 and 790 are favorites. To me it seems like Channels always prefers higher numbered channels (790) over lower numbered channels (783), like it sorts channel numbers in descending order when it picks one for recording.

...but i want to use Favorites for my guide too. It's a pain when i need to flip from HD to favorites, etc.

I believe the sort you're guessing at is correct - just strict number.
