Ability to set transcoding override per channel

Just found out about the bug with Nvidia Shield where certain OTA encoding methods introduce glitches in playback on the shield.

I’ve run into issues in the past with certain streams where one or 2 channels benefit from me transcoding the content at the server level (fixing audio issues or other things) while ‘play original’ works for everything else.

It would be awesome to be able to select a specific transcoding option that would override the system wide settings for individual ‘problem channels’.

I just made the decision to abandon my Shield in favor of a old mac. I just got to the point where i found it was more trouble than its worth. I now have a system with Plex server, Channels Server and Homebridge with great speed and absolutely ZERO issues.

Good choice as we’ve sunsetted Channels DVR Server on the SHIELD.

So I don’t run server on the shield, I run it on Ubuntu. So I may have misread a recent post about the shield not transcoding certain content properly as a client issue versus the server issue it was.

I think running a server on the shield is a bad idea - even though it’s possible, it’s not meant for that.

Regardless, when I started with Plex Live TV and moved to Channels, I ran into issues with some local channels having audio sync issues when direct playing to certain clients. When I forced transcoding, this issues went away, but I was transcoding all channels for the sake of fixing 1 or 2 channels.
