Access to Channel Collections Via M3U

I use Channels in conjunction with Tivimate to create a TV experience for my Mom more like the old school cable provider we previously used. I do use Channels DVR to record/watch shows as well and use the Channels apps myself.

Anyway, I am a bit behind on Channels new bells and whistles but recently noticed the new Channels Collections feature. I wish there were a way to access the Channels provided M3U with only the channels in a given collection (and ideally in the same order as in the collection). This would cut out some manual work on my side. I don't make frequent changes but when I do I have to edit down the Channels M3U to give only the subset of channels that my Mom wants. If there was a URL for just the collections M3U that would make it easier when I needed to change things up. I know others use the Channels M3U output for Emby and such so perhaps there are others who could find value in such a feature.

If I missed that this feature was already discussed, my apologies.

On a related note, the new virtual channels I've tested are showing up in the M3U, but they do not play. They do work in the Channels beta app so the channels are configured correctly. I don't know if they are meant to be available in the M3U or not. The log shows this error:

[ERR] Could not start stream for ANY ch10004 Custom: unsupported

Only marginally connected and I don't have an immediate use for it, but I just thought I'd mention that it doesn't work.

Thanks!

Virtual channels via m3u will likely not be supported. The virtual feature relies heavily on client code in our app.

Collections via m3u seems reasonable. Will have to poke around to see how doable it is.

I didn't really have a use for the virtual channels in the M3U anyway, but it might be worth removing from the M3U if it doesn't break something else to do so.

Happy to hear that there might be a collections via M3U coming. Definitely would be helpful for me and I hope others might find a use for it as well. Thanks!!

Any update on this request? Channel collections would be especially useful.

Is there a way to access Channels DVR created recordings via M3U?

Has there been any updates to channel collections via M3U? Thanks.

Not that I'm aware of I would assume this is similar to the reasoning behind why virtual channels cannot be accessed via M3U. I would love a detailed post on M3U formatting from someone smarter than me. I've picked up a lot from various threads but I'm sure I'm missing something. Specifically when things should be added to the end of the M3U ie channels.m3u?format=ts vs channels.m3u
