Acknowledgement of bug reports

Would it be possible for bugs reported by users to be acknowledged when they are read by the devs? Even if it's just a like against the post from one of them, or a quick "Yes it's repeatable we'll look into it"

I posted a bug report a couple of weeks back ( api/navigate/Videos bug in recent betas) and have had no response to it at all. So I don't know if it is being looked at, is on a to do list, wasn't repeatable for them or hasn't even made it onto the devs radar yet.

I've reported multiple Android bugs over the past couple of years and they're rarely acknowledged. Even if they are, unless it's a significant functionality bug, it won't be addressed.

This is a community forum, not official support, or a bug tracker.

So, if not in the beta section of this forum (which I had presumed was set up specifically for this purpose), where should we post bug reports for betas?

As stated, this is a community forum. While the developers often read posts and contribute their own, official communications directed at the developers ought to go to [email protected].

(Ideally you would have sent diagnostic data immediately after experiencing the issue, which would then be followed by the email to support, with the logs' ID. Also, a minimal set of steps necessary to reliably recreate the issue would not be remiss.

Sharing that information on the forum would allow other users to acknowledge whether they have similar experiences, but the best way to get the issue seen by the developers would be a direct email to support.

Additionally, if you do post on the forum, please remember that other users are not in the room with you. We have no clue what your hardware and/or environment consists of, so please include details with your posts. To the OP: I am not claiming you are guilty of this; it is merely a blanket statement for others who find this post.)

I have just emailed them the contents of my bug report post, but surely for bug reports on the beta where there is a specific section of the forum for discussion, it would but much better for that to be the primary area for reports and acknowledgements as all users can share and contribute? Isn't that better than support getting multiple reports of the same bug?

Sure, so post about the bug here too, for community corroboration and discussion. Just don’t expect an official acknowledgement of each and every bug report from the developers, that’s all.

Many reports I’ve seen here end up not even being bugs.
