In typical user experience, are the current comskip.ini setting used by Channels DVR effective in dealing with the "channel will return in a short bit" screen for TVE stuff, instead of actual commercials?
Some TVE channels use the new smart commercial detection and some use comskip.
Even a TVE channel that uses the new smart detection for one show may not use it on other shows.
Personally, I find ad detection varies wildly. Whether it's comskip or the new smart detection.
I agree and it's rather inconsistent, even on the same broadcast TV channel where one show will work fine and another will not detect commercials.
it's a delight when it's correct and not a big deal to jump forward when commercials are not detected. False positives are annoying yet not that common.
