I'm surprised this still hasn't come to pass. This kind of thing really needs to be automated because many episodes aren't repeated past the first night. If an episode is only broadcast at 9pm and 1am, and it's not til the next morning that I notice that the 9pm recording has a problem, I'm out of luck.
Barring that, maybe there could be a system for sending notifications or emails or RSS when a problem is encountered.
