Add auto comskip as a toggle option when playing a recording

So I've got a pass for NFL games and comskip runs on those, the problem is that some games always auto skip correctly like NBC and others skip incorrectly like most Fox, some ESPN etc. What you see with the ones that don't skip correctly is that they actually skip over game content while you're watching. So then I have to go back into the playback menu and turn off auto skip (I switch to having the button display on screen). And when I'm done watching go back in and turn it back on again.

Would be nice to be able to toggle auto skip on and off from the options menu while watching a recording, just like you can do with closed captions etc. There's no guarantee when you have a pass that spans multiple channels that all the recorded content will skip correctly, but when some do and some don't it would be a lot easier to just toggle this while watching.

Did you know you can edit commercials manually?

Bring up the Channels Admin screen in a browser. On the top menu, click DVR, then Manage. On the next page, it'll already be highlighting "Shows". If it's a movie, you can choose that. Click on top menu "Filter" then scroll down and click on "Unverified". It'll bring up a list of shows that had comskip run on them after recording.

On each one, you can click on "Options" then "Edit Commercials". It'll bring up a list with screenpics it automatically chose. GREEN is "show", Gray is "commercial"

You can look at the pics, and modify which ones it picked, by checking OR UN-checking the checkbox on each line. When you think you have it all correct, scroll to the bottom and click on "Save Changes". Then just go to the top, and click the X to exit. That show now has better edits, and you can leave the Auto-skip turned on.

Yeah I knew, thanks for that. But I just want to chill and not have to bring up any sort of separate admin on my phone every time I want to watch a game. Plus you're editing 3-4 hour games and a lot of them I'm chase watching while they're in progress so comskip is not done anyway.

Whole lot easier just to set a toggle.

This doesn't work if you are trying to watch a recording in progress. Sometimes I'll watch a game about an hour after it starts for various reasons, or to have the ability to skip past commercials while the game is still in progress. I've experienced OP's issue during football games and it's rather annoying to try and go back to find where it jumped from. I've resorted ot turning off live detection for recordings in progress and turing off auto skip (if I remember).

Possibly the devs can allow for turning off live detection just for live sports, as it seems to work fine for regular tv?
