I had the older OS issue Friday and had to do a restore - there was a show that was recorded (I saw it Thursday night), but not in the last backup. It's still on my drive (the show file), but when I restored it wasn't brought back in. Is there any way to easily add this to Channels?
I'll defer to the devs to answer your question, but...
Perhaps they could add a database snapshot (backup) immediately before a new version update installs, in addition to the one that's currently done immediately following an update.
That would have saved your recording.

I just had this happen to me too. I have a couple shows that got orphaned. Did you figure out how to get them re-adopted?
Move those recorded files to under your Imports/Movies or Imports/TV directory and Import them.
Lame that it doesn't have a way to look for the orphans and fix it. Maybe that needs to be a feature request.
