I have a remote Channels DVR server plus a local HDHR. All works great. I also have a few local SAT>IP channels that I'd like to add (in the form of regular rtsp or http streams). Since I can't add them to the server (they point to a local IP address), is there a way I can add them to the app, or is it something you can take a look at in the future?
The server is required for everything like this. This is unlikely to change.

One solution is to tie the two LANs together using a VPN. This would allow the local LAN to reach the server in the remote LAN as if it was local. Depending on your VPN device, you can define routes to restrict traffic on the VPN to selectively allow Channels DVR to be routable, but nothing else.
