I am trying to add an image for Movie in my Collection. Upon updating art, the image I need is more a vertical oriented image, like twice as tall as width. The image I have is the opposite - much wider than height. So when I upload into the art picker, it crops the middle third of the image for use and chops off the rest. How do you manipulate images to use for movies? What is the max size in pixels - height and width?
Yes, movie posters in Channels are presented in the normal poster aspect of 2:3.
You can learn more about the aspects of images in our documentation:
Yes, I understand the ratio. But how do you shrink the photo inside the ratio, so the formally cropped out portions can now be seen?
There is no resizing capabilities, only cropping. I would suggest resizing the image with another tool before uploading.
In the Art Picker's Cropper after selecting new artwork, click the down arrow next to the Save button to select Save without Crop. This will add a blurred letterbox effect to fit the full image into the required aspect ratio.
