I have my shield all set up, and everything is running smoothly on all my TV's, but I am running out of space.
I am about to hook up an external hardrive to it. It is my DVR server. Is this going to mess everything up. Is there any simple quick way to get it to recognize it?

I would guess if you set up the external drive as an expansion of internal storage then you wouldn't have to do anything at all, the shield will just now see that it has more to work with. If setting it up as external storage (allows you to access the drive remotely, etc) then you would have to update your DVR storage location.
