Adding free channels that don't need TVE login

First of all, this is a fantastic service! I'm not sure how many people use it for this, but it's great for seniors! We got it for our grandmother in her 80s since we prefer streaming services but they are all too complicated to teach to someone without any technical knowledge. It's fantastic being able to keep a consistent GUI that can be simplified down to just a guide with favorite channels. The apple tv universal remote integration is also great for simplicity. I don't know if you guys due any marketing for this use case but you should, it's really fantastic!

I do have a few requests though:

  1. Is it possible to add other channels which don't require a TVE login, such as TBN? It's included on some providers but not Fubo, which we have. However it's free to watch the channel on their website so I think it would be simple to add it in channels.
  2. Is it possible to keep a certain client device from being able to record shows? Our grandmother keeps accidentally recording programs which is clogging up our memory and bandwidth.

If you can find a web page that offers a live stream of the channel post it and the Devs may be able to add it.

I don’t believe this is possible. There is a kiosk mode, but it doesn’t prevent creating recordings I don’t think.

Kiosk mode

Here is the page for the live channel. It would be great if this can be added!

Clicking on the link, and choosing Watch Free takes you to a registration page. It looks like you have to "join" their site. I don't think Channels is setup to handle this. The only authentication I've seen for Channels is TVE. As far as I know, one off sites are not supported.

Yes, having to have a dedicated login means this is likely not compatible with Channels. I came across something similar with Epix recently.
