Adding time to end of season pass results in recordings not made

We watch a lot of house hunters in our house, often times these are back to back recordings. I have noticed if I leave the default recording settings alone the 30 minute episodes start about 30 seconds early and end 30 seconds early so we miss the last 30~ seconds of the end of the show. That timing issue is one problem...

Second problem, I tried adding 5 minutes to the end of the season pass but this results in ! episodes in the recording history saying the episode started late (and apparently didn't record at all as a result).

I am using three lineups:
Wave broadband cable via hdhomerun cablecard tuner with 3 tuners
Xfinity TVE (that has HGTV)
ATSC HDhomerun tuner

I am running the latest version from 10-22

My question is why these back to back episodes were not recorded, I would hope that the software would use another available tuner to record the episode immediately after the one that has the 5 minute padding but it doesn't seem to be doing that. There are two other tuners and TVE that have HGTV availability.

Thoughts?

We can't tell what's going on without looking at the logs from the time when a recording was supposed to happen.

It looks like it is trying to auth to TVE but failing, I wonder why it didn't use one of the other tuners on the hdhomerun cable card tuner?

This should include more channel numbers. Do you have a channel set on the pass? Can you screenshot how it appears on the Passes tab of the Web UI when you click ...

AFAIK the captcha only appears if you are using some sort of VPN

No VPN, just normal internet connection

Try this URL in a Chrome Incognito window and see if it shows a captcha or not:

I was redirected to:

I was already logged into my comcast account so it didn't prompt me for credentials.

Maybe your account got flagged after all those attempts. Try logging in manually with captcha, then try again in a new incognito window to see if it asks for a captcha every time?

I logged in incognito, entered the captcha then tried logging in again and didn't get the captcha.

Tried adding the TVE source back in channels and get this:

Are you running Chrome/logging in on the same computer running the DVR server? Are you logged into the computer using the same user account that Channels is running as?

No, it is running on a Synology NAS. My testing w/incognito and the xfinity TVE login pages is on my laptop.

Your OP is a bit confusing and may need reworded.
I "think" you mean they start 30 seconds LATE and end 30 seconds LATE, not early.
This is the norm for TVE, unless your Synology's time is off.
Check time.is against your Synology.
I also use a Synology NAS for Xfinity-TVE recordings, so may be able to help.
If your Synology is running Channels DVR, it's what sets the time for recordings.
If you are doing back-back recordings on the same channel, you should be good with 30 second or 1 minute end padding on them. Channels DVR will share a tuner for back-back recordings on the same channel.

Just an after thought, if your Syno NAS time is off, that may affect auth?
