Additional Recording Locations

I have a number of HDHR boxes and I would like to be able to specify where I want recordings from each one to go. I have multiple storage devices attached to my Channels DVR Server. Here is what I am looking for exactly.

  1. Specify where each HDHR will record to:
    a) Flex-4k to Internal D:\ChannelsDVR
    b) HDHR-Extend to USB 10TB E:\ChannelsDVR
    c) HDHR-Extend to USB 10TB F:\ChannelsDVR

  2. I would like to specify which of the above locations can be watched by different TV's or Devices

  3. I would like to specify which HDHR will record which channels with a drop down of some sort that can be selected from the channel guide.

Thanks It!
Thanks

This isn’t something that you can do, nor is it something we would be adding.

You might want to just take advantage of the fact that you can install as many Channels DVR Servers as you want, and set them up separately in the way that you would like.

You can then have each of them import each other’s recordings, and they’ll appear in all of their libraries, if you would like.

There are also many other advanced ways to limit what content is on each client. Dig in to our documentation to learn about labels or our other advanced features

Not interested in having Multiple Channels Servers. I just want one that will do what I ask. I already have to many servers as it is.

If nothing else just being able to select which recordings go where would be extremely helpful.

Maybe this can be done in the setup when selecting the source.

Thanks so much for the feedback and info. But this not something we'll be adding any time soon.

You may want to reconsider.

I currently (it changes) run six Channels DVR Servers (for various reasons).
They each record to different directories.
The hardest part of managing all of them separately is keeping the passes and recordings in sync.

I don't foresee them changing things, so will happily continue what I'm doing and managing it the way it is.

Have to say the best thing is that they allow this, but you can only remote access one Channels DVR server per account. I don't use their remote access (I use tailscale), so that doesn't apply.
