I am trying to do an Advance Pass on a Custom Channel that does not have any Guide data but has the one hour Placeholder blocks.
I know that now I can record the 1 hour blocks easily (Thanks) but I want to start at a certain time for a certain duration for movies.
This pass is a TEST to record a portion of movie as follows
and it does not record anything.
Any suggestions, Thanks.

The placeholder starts at 10am not 10:05am. It is also 1h in duration, not 30min.
You can use padding to change long it records for.
Understood, I can change padding when recording from placeholder blocks in Guide.

My pass seems pretty straightforward; channel, start day&time, duration.
They do, but it is non-trivial. (This is why the placeholder data was implemented.) If you wish to pursue this, here is the pertinent thread:
Passes match guide data. Those matched guide data get scheduled to record.
The guide data in this case is hourly placeholder data.
So your pass must match something in the guide for it to record. You can use negative start padding of 5 minutes to start recording five minutes late.
