AI Upscaling? via Apple API

I just noticed, that Infuse, has updated and now has "AI Upscaling" features.

They state this.

Infuse leverages Apple’s hardware to deliver sharper, clearer images when playing lower-resolution videos on larger screens. There’s a fair amount of ‘secret sauce’ here, but Infuse uses a handful of hardware-based APIs with some other magic mixed in to provide AI upscaling features. ...so while the current gen ATV4K will see subtle improvements, the full suite of features will automatically start working on the next-gen models for an even better experience.

I gather that some of what they are doing would be proprietary to their player app, but, that statement seems to indicate their is "hardware-based APIs" that can be used to help enhance/upscale video content.

Is this something Channels DVR already makes use of? For local media playback or live tv?
Or is this something that Channels could look into as a optional feature to enable for possibly better video quality, for supported content.

For the record, I have tried testing Infuse's new Upscaling feature, on my current model Apple TV 4K 128GB model, with both 1080 and 480 files, and i notice no difference.
(but they do state that this is pretty much a thing for the rumored next gen model coming out this year, and for newer hardware that supports "Apple Intelligence", M series chip devices, and A16 or higher devices, which the current Apple TV 4K model is A15)

Whats strange is that Channels already has better DVD/480i/p sourced picture quality than Infuse.
Ill have to update Infuse to the new version to see if its pq has changed. I think its all Infuse hype.

Low Rez videos look the exact same to me in Channels or Infuse.

Yep, Infuse hype! Toggled the AI crap off and on and there was no difference.

AI is just a buzzword https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qbylbEek-M

On what device? The current model Apple TV does NOT support such things yet.

Only Devices with Apple Intelligence supports this new enhancement. Hence why they call it A.I. to mean it powered by Apple Intelligence i gather.

M series chip or A16 chip required.

Anyways, i rather keep this thread focused on Channels video processing, not discussing if things work in Infuse, or if it is crap or not, if u want to discus that specifically, go to their forms.

Yep, Channels PQ on the Apple Tv is pretty good as it is. I dont think any "AI" stuff will really make it any better. I think its just to make people upgrade hardware for no actual benefit. I think the same of "HDR" or DOLBY ATMOS. I have it all and its really no better than not turning those features on, IN most cases, its better with them off.

I think whay the industry does is crap the initial output, and then add features to make it seem thay are improving on it, than charging a premium for the logo and the button to put it where it should be.
