My SD channels look like garbage on the Apple TV, any chance we can get AI upscaling built into the Apple TV app so all the channels look mint?
I doubt that is something the CDVR devs and bake into server. That is going to need to be done by the streaming box directlty .
My experience with AI upscale with Nvidia Shield and 720p & 480i content is mixed. If there is any artifacts in the video AI Upscaling makes them much worse. If video is find. AI upscalinging sharpens the blur lines. Sometimes this looks better. Just as often it looks bad. It shines upscaling 1080p content. Its not a huge difference, but its there.
If your heck bent on using Apple I think only solution is going to upscale your content on your PC and import into server. Or get a upscaler box in between Apple TV and TV. Neither of which are good solutions. I am not a apple user so maybe there is another solution i am unaware of.
This wouldn't be anything we'll be able to do.
