Is there any support for Airplaying video from my iphone to an Apple Tv? Occasionally, I go to someone’s house and they don’t have Wifi but they do have apple tv. I use the peer to peer airplay streaming, using the cellular data off of my phone streaming to the apple tv.
The app cannot airplay because we use a custom player and the built-in airplay is only on the system player.
But you can airplay via the web player in Safari.

This got me thinking… It might be totally impossible, you guys tell me.
What about enabling airplay to people who are already running a DVR server that can do Hardware transcoding? Can you enable the default player for those people so we can use airplay from the iOS App?
Might be total non-sense!

For what it’s worth this post was from 5 years ago. A lot has changed since then. I know Airplay does work for all of my sources through my ATV. I have not attempted Airplay from my Mac.
