"All tuners in use" error

Hello, i've got a HDHR4-2DT homerun device, i'm using app channels for hdhomerun standalone app on two apple tv 4k and i systematically get the error "All tuners in use" when i try to change channel while i'm watching something else on another device.
I noticed channels app, since latest updates, tries to use a different tuner every time i change channel, but i think this leads to an error if one tuner is already used by another device.

I've started having this issue since november, had no issues before, and if i try the official hdhomerun app i get no issues at all as any channel change is done on the same tuner.

You could try tuner sharing. Not sure what the root cause of your issue is but this could be a good workaround

There's no tuner sharing option in the standalone app.

Gotcha. You should try the server, you will have a lot more capabilities

I don't need a server version, i only need the standalone hdhomerun app, it was working correctly since early november.

It sounds like the app is trying to tune and get a stream before it has released the previous one. Since the active tuner doesn't get released in a timely manner, when a new stream is requested upon the channel change there isn't a free tuner available yet, leading to this error.

Maybe that's the point.
I hope this can be fixed, it wasn't working this way some times ago.

Will this issue gonna be fixed in the next releases?

Please submit diagnostics after it happens and share your hdhomerun device ID

I've sent the diagnostics right now, homerun id is 12316EFF and here's the log:

Updated today to version 5.5.11 and the error is still there every time I change the channel and some other device is using the other tuner.

Everytime I change channel the app is trying to use another tuner instead of changing channel on the tuner already in use.

I don't know for certain what's going on, but it appears to be a regression in the HDHomeRun firmware not releasing the tuner quickly enough. I'm not sure what more we can do to fix it.

Our logs show that we stopped one HTTP session before starting the next.

I think the issue is on the channels app side.
It began happening after updating channels app to version 5.5.8 or 5.5.9 and it was working correctly before that.
I left hdhr firmware untouched at that time and only updated it recently to see if something changed.
It’s all working correctly with hdhr official app.

Tell me if I can provide some more evidences to solve the issue.

What firmware version does your HDHomeRun have?

Now it’s on version 20221205 but I got the same issue even with the previous firmware.

Is there some follow up about this issue?

The issue is still present after updating channels app to 5.6.0 and hdhomerun firmware to 20230303
