I have an Apple TV client on a slow wireless connection to the DVR server and I am constantly running out of buffer skipping commercials. If I switch the playback speed from “Original” to 8Mbps I get plenty of buffer but I lose my surround sound. So either an option to keep surround sound transcoding or allow use of the big buffer on the original quality would really be appreciated.

I know I could just increase the speed of the network but that isn’t really an option, it’s around 20-40 mbps.

Other than that this is one quality piece of software and it’s performance blows away all other streaming apps including YouTube TV so bravo on that.

If you download the TestFlight beta there’s a setting in the Debug menu called Use HLS Streaming When Efficient. Flip that on and you’ll have what you’re looking for.
