Amazon Fire alternatives as Channels clients?

Thanks! I had found several that looked really good (this and this) but they all were USB-C connectors - so not usable with the onn. device.

The one I posted is OTG and no need for an OTG Cable and has it's own powersupply.

Yeah, looks good but has mixed bag of reviews - including this (not good).

Well you can always get the Amazon one and use and OTG Cable for more storage.

The original post was about the concern of excessive advertising on FireTV. No one seems to complain about Apple advertising on the AppleTV. So, yesterday I turned on my FireTV and very quickly a full screen ad for AppleTV Plus content came up. Not sure if I have a point, but I thought it was interesting.

Those ads do not bother me heck have you watched YouTube lately they have ads every few minutes. all you have to do is hit the homebutton on the FireStick ... If it wasn't for the ads I would have missed some new movies added to my subscriptions.

I completely agree with you. I enjoy finding out about new promoted content. Just wasn't sure if Apple agreed with Amazon's advertising methods.

FYI did your Firestick update to the new Christmas section ... lots of content I had forgotten about. I also like that it now shows Plex content. If you see something you like it launches Plex.

Yes, the Holiday Hub is very good. Nice listings of Christmas music and movies, helps bring back old memories.

For those of us who are tired of YouTube advertisements - there's the SmartTube app which is a replica YouTube application that provides YouTube videos that are 100% ad-free.

I've run SmartTube on Fire TV and the onn. Google TV 4K Streaming Box and it's A-OK!
