Annual Reminder: If you install iOS/tvOS/iPadOS/macOS 27 betas, you are on your own

This is the yearly reminder that we do not support beta operating systems. If you want full support and reliability, please do not update to the latest betas. If you do so and things break, do not expect us to immediately fix anything to make Channels work on a beta Operating System.

If you do install it, and things work great, or things are bad, feel free to report them. This is helpful. But we generally don't get things ready for the new OS until it's released, because Apple ships VERY buggy betas, and we don't like to waste our summer fixing bugs that Apple introduced.

Thanks!

I have installed on two of my Apple TVs and it seems to work fine

Anyone using the Public beta?

I been running the Dev beta of MacOS 27 on a MacBook NEO and ipad Mini...been good.
Pubic beta now on Mac Mini M4.

Just wondering about Apple TV users.

I see a bunch of chatter about the tvOS 25.6 update causing bricked Apple TV's, but not much about 27 beta. Maybe some comments about certain videos stuttering in certain apps.

Hi there,

Just wanted to report a potential issue with Channels app on tvOS 27 Public Beta 1. I have a HomePod stereo pair for the audio, and it's working great in every other app, but I've noticed it's crackling/popping/ slightly distorted when using the Default audio driver. If I change it to the Legacy audio driver then the crackling goes away, but there's a ~2-3 second delay when pausing/playing before the audio stops/starts again.

I don't recall this issue on tvOS 26, so likely an issue with the beta, but just wanted to flag it in time for the main release in autumn

Thanks!

Update after my post got moved here: I' not expecting support for running a beta, that's my choice, but just wanted to flag it in case it's still present in the public release later, thanks

+1 to the crackling on Default audio + HomePods stereo pair + tvOS 27 beta.

Can confirm same for me.
Homepod minis. both on beta firmware same as the Apple TV 4K (Public Beta channel)
Only an issue in Channels.

One thing that i gather is Beta os related.

When i open Channels, my Personal sections of rows of Channel Collections does not show, but my Personal media Video Groups does. If i wait a few minutes, it loads in. Or if i force close then reopen the app, they then show.

This is just normal loading for the app. It's loading guide data in the background, and once it's there, the row populates.

Well. it never took that long before i started to use the 27 os beta.
Those sections also disappear if the app is in the background for a while. Have to close and reopen it to get it to load.
There not many channels in each row, 10 channel is the biggest one.
They all are channels from FASTchannels.

EDIT: A update to FASTchannels seemed to have caused some number conflict, i noticed 4 channels with the same number, and maybe it was causing some lag in pull guide data. I had channels set to Ignore chan number and use it own. Removed that and let FAST handle that aspect.
That seems to at least, improved things for me.

A post was split to a new topic: Issue on macOS

The 27 series of OSs have actually been very solid. I did have the same issues with Channels, Youtube and YouTube TV. The latest beta (6) seems to have taken care of it.
