Any chance of Channels/Channels DVR apps for macOS Sierra

I know there’re Channels apps for ApleTV4 and iOS, but will there be an app macOS soon?

+1 would love this.

Do you know about the web-ui? There is a currently a web-ui that works on any OS. You can have a window in the corner of the computer desktop that plays channels or recordings. Or can even view them full screen on your computer. It works great and the interface has even better options for sorting, searching, and recording than either the ATV or IOS apps do.

You can do this yourself with http://fluidapp.com. I've used it, it works great.

Thanks, I know about the webui at localhost:8089/admin/settings but i’d like an app like the one for ATV4

anyways I’m switching to the new Nvidia Shield which is standalone Plex Server and Client, and Google Live TV app offers FREE Live TV and DVR. I’m getting excellent picture/sound from my two HDHomeRUN Prime units.
Fortunately my EyeTV even works with HDHomeRUN PRIME too but there is no guide!

FYI check out this video $199 for everything without montly fees https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LMaCNcORdE

For $199 you get the Nvidia Shield which includes the app to watch live TV. This is slightly more expensive then a $149 retail 32GB AppleTV and $24.99 Channels App and slightly cheaper then a $199 64GB AppleTV plus $24.99 Channels App. Neither setup includes cost of an HDHomeRun tuner and antenna or cable subscription for the prime. So it isn’t $199 for everything and DVR will have subscription costs.

From a live TV features perspective it was real cool to have the station playing in the background on the home screen. Also liked the popup for previous channels. However, the demo didn’t demonstrate any ability to time shift (pause, rewind, fast forward). If that isn’t available that would be a significant feature difference.

As for DVR, it looks like the Shield will use the Silicondust DVR. While I no longer check on the Silicondust DVR regularly (I did until I found Channels) the DVR didn’t have a great start, isn’t progressing too fast and isn’t close the the Channels DVR in features even though Silicondust had a 1 year head start. Silicondust DVR will be cheaper but this is another example of getting what you pay for.

Google just put out an update a few days ago to the Live TV app that added DVR support. It’s very limited from my testing of it, and definitely not something that I would use over Channels.
