I know, in the past, it was said that Roku does not have enough horsepower to run a Channels DVR client. Is there a way for the server to transcode the video to work with Roku devices the way Plex does? Roku devices are very affordable. Channels DVR Server transcodes now, for remote web clients. Can that functionality be used so that Roku clients can work?

Not ideal but there is a bit of a workaround. You can put the folder for channels DVR in your plex library so you can then access those recordings. It wouldn't be live but anything you wanna watch you could record in channels DVR and then watch on plex.
From what I recall the issue wasn’t that the devices weren’t powerful enough. The issue was that the Roku platform is very difficult/painful to develop for.
