Any other way other than port forwarding?

I noticed when I use port forwarding (because I have a double NAT), this seems to interfere with a video service that my wife used to watch Japanese TV (the video streaming buffers a lot).

Is there any other way to watch outside my home other than using port forwarding?

Thanks.

No

Use VPN.

A VPN on my computer where the Channels server is?

VPN on your firewall.

I thought perhaps use DMZ? If so, where would I enable it?

Cox Router --> My Router --> computer/iphones, etc.

And, I am reading it is not very safe, though.

Honestly port-forwarding should have zero effect on other traffic.

Double NAT is pretty awful for a number of reasons, and you should try to fix that. If you add a DMZ on the Cox router with your own router, that should get rid of the extra NAT.

I am reading different points of view about the security of using DMZ. I’m guessing my router’s firewall will be the key. Thoughts?

DMZ to a local computer is a bad idea. DMZ to another router is fine, because the second router has its own NAT, firewall, etc.

Perfect. Thanks!

Just set it up.

And, yes, I would think port forwarding would not interfere with other traffic, but I wanted to eliminate it as a possibility.
