Any thoughts on Intel NUC i3 7th generation for Channels DVR

I’ve ordered an Intel NUC i3 7th generation system with 8GB of DDR 4 and a M.2 SSD 250GB hard drive.

Should this be powerful enough to run Channels DVR correctly?

That would be powerful enough to run the DVR and do everything. I currently get by with 150GB, and about 10 -15 recordings lying around on average, but if you want to save a lot of shows on the DVR, you might want to consider an External USB drive. You can always move the recordings later as well.

honestly if all you are doing with it is DVR and you won’t have more than 1-2 remote streams transcoding then get an older NUC and only add 4GB. I’ve got a 34010U Nuc laying around that could easily run the DVR and it isn’t near as powerful as the newer i3. Hell, if you don’t need transcoding you can run the DVR on a Pi3.

I already ordered it and I’ll have it tomorrow. I wanted to make sure I had enough power. My current Plex server is running on an AMD Quad Core with 32GB ram and 12TB. I wanted to take the load off that and just use the new NUC as a DVR for live OTA only
