I changed the network shares on one of my local content sources (both TV and Movies), so I added the new paths to Local Content and removed the old ones. This was several hours ago and I have yet to see any of the new ones come in. I've run "Scan Sources" about every 10 minutes and still no love. I figure it's because I've been recording so many football games today, but wondering if there's anything I can do to have those programs ready to watch. One was a movie I was in the middle of and hoped to finish it tonight.
Get a computer with a faster processor, and a bigger bus, with a hard drive that can actually make use of all of that bus' bandwidth. Otherwise, no, there isn't anything you can do. You are limited by your hardware.
(In short, the lag in scanning is not a software issue, it is a limitation of your hardware.)
This is older, but I've never had concerns about it not being adequate.

Most likely this is related. If it was local storage it probably would be faster.
Because the recording engine was very busy recording, I had neglected to log off and log back on again, which may be why when I added the old share paths back all the movies and tv shows in those locations re-appeared in the library seemingly instantly.
