I've tried to use one with a Windows setup but can't get it to connect when trying to watch it thru the app on my Nvidia Shield .
Mine works perfect using WireGuard vpn. The problem with your post is it lacks any sort of relevant details needed to help you. There are different kinds of vpn’s, who’s the vpn client, who’s the vpn server, is the shield remote, ect. You need to be specific in your use case.
Agree 100% with @Rice here, Wireguard is awesome (I run it inside a Docker container - via Boringtun) and use the stock iPhone/MacOS clients. I'm sure the Windows implementation is also rock solid.
I am using Channels on Windows 10 with PIA using WireGuard protocol with no issues to report. But also agree with @Rice that without additional information help will be very limited to simply telling you it works with VPNs.
I tried using nord a long time ago (about a year). It "mostly worked". But i was getting some failed recording, could of been coincidence? So i no longer run channels through vpn. I should revisit and try again. I live in Fl and always connect to miami server.
So fire up your vpn. See what happens.
So here's my setup. Running Channels server on a Windows PC, using Surfshark VPN on it. Have it set to use Wireguard protocol. I get my internet thru Starlink which gives me a public IP address but it's giving me a location in Seattle and in turn gives me the locals based there. I'm in Calif and would like to use the VPN to get channels from the Bay Area.
Also the 2 IP addresses that show in the Channels server start with a 10.xxx.xx.xxx and a 192.xxx.xx.xxx. The one with a 192 will connect ok but the 10 one won't once the VPN is turned on
I have this same issue when using VPN with Nvidia Shield. VPN I am using is IPVanish. Any updates?
As a workaround, if you spoof your PC location and enable TVE in channels, you can get the TVE feeds of CBS and FOX to change to the spoofed location. This doesn’t work for ABC and NBC as they solely use the geolocation of the IP address.
Actually I find the NBC always works but ABC never does. Tried both ExpressVPN & NordVPN. What are you using, @gt2982a ?
I use Spoof Geolocation plugin for Firefox. NBC and ABC always geolocation (correctly) to my ISP WAN address. CBS and FOX geolocate to whatever GPS coordinates I enter into Spoof. Handy for next football season.
