Anyone know why playback of recordings on Quicktime, or in iOS device, the audio has an echo to it?

I record local broadcasts sometimes if there is something relevant to my occupation. It's easier than hoping the local news station keeps the story available on their website. But when I play the .mpg file back, it has a terrible echo to it. If I load the .mpg in VLC (another video player), there is no echo.

I haven't tried loading it on an android device, because I don't have one. Anyone else notice this?

I just made a quick recording of it using my phone.

The first two times you hear it, you hear the echo I'm talking about. It also kinda makes it sound like a phaser effect, and this is what it sounds like when I load the .mpg files in Quicktime, or play them on iPhone.

The 3rd time, I load it in VLC, and it sounds normal.

Quicktime is probably playing multiple audio tracks at once. I've seen that before.

I'm shocked it's even working with the MPG container. I guess your recording is h.264 so it can play it back still.
