Anyone lose FOX on Xfinity TVE recently?

repost from this other thread

Not sure when I lost FOX, but I think it was rather recently. Anyone else?

I don't see 6002 in the guide and I dont see it in the channel lineup in settings.

I already tried toggling the local channels checkbox in Settings and have upgaded to the latest pre-release

  1. does it work on fox.com/live

  2. did you toggle the setting from an https url like my.channelsdvr.net

Well, sort of....

I log in with the TV Provider Login and am redirected to an interesting page:

But then when I click continue, FOX starts streaming and it says I am logged in with my Xfinity account

Okay so (1) is yes.

How about (2)? Go to my.ChannelsDVR.net and uncheck then recheck the setting. Does it ask for your location?

Of note, all of the other FOX-related channels are in the lineup and I can watch via the guide.

I did uncheck and re-check. Nothing asks for my location.

Which browser are you using? Does it show HTTPS at the top?

Firefox and Chrome. with all extensions disabled.

no https. i was just using http://myipaddr:8089/

I didn't understand that my.channelsdvr.net made any difference over just using my local ip address. I thought that was just for network discovery to make it easier on people who didnt know ip.

But i see now that the ssl cert depends on the hostname it comes up with.

So anyway, when i actually follow your instructions, it does turn https, and the browser does ask for my location.

of note, i can also just accept the 'invalid' ssl cert for going to https://myipaddr:8089/ (really https://dvr1.kister.net:8089) and the browser still appropriately asks for my location when i tick the local content checkbox.

After ticking that checkbox, the browser does ask for my location and FOX is detected in TVE.

Thanks for figuring that out!

This worked for me. I lost fox on Directv.

Same issue on multiple providers for me. Went to my.channelsdvr.net per above and unchecked Local Networks via TV Everywhere. Then rechecked it and got the location prompt. It reloaded local channels but still no Fox. Is it possible they stopped offering TVE in my area (Philadelphia)?

Your local Fox affiliate may only offer prime time content; you may want to retry after 8pm.

FYI I am on Xfinity just an hour outside of Philadelphia (and the uncheck-recheck worked)

Make sure you have vpn/location spoofs off when doing the "toggle".
