I live in Phoenix and am thinking about buying this turner:
Is there anything special required to use Channels with this on Apple TV? Does using this type of tuner add any additional functions or will it look just. the same but just have more channels?
Other than allowing you to tune up to 2 different ATSC 3.0 channels, you won't notice a difference between the device and the regular 4 tuner model. (Those 2 ATSC 3.0 tuners can also tune ATSC 1.0 channels, so you can still have 4 ATSC 1.0 channels tuned at once.)
I current game the Homerun Quattro. I assume I can just swap that out for the ATSC 3.0 one?
I'm in the Phoenix market as well. ATSC 3.0 is still a bit of mess. We had all primary networks active for about 3 weeks and as of this week most are gone. ABC and CW came back on line mid-week. Lots of adjustments to ATSC 3.0 over the past 3 months.
I don't have the 4k tuner hooked up to channels at this time because the channels come and go. It's not stable enough if you plan to record.
I also have mine disabled in Channels ... I do not see any great signal quality they are not transmitting 4K.
