App cant find DVR at remote location

I just signed up for channels dvr and set it up on my Northern computer (I am in Florida) via team viewer . I then logged into my Northern Router and set port forwarding (8089) for the computer it is installed on. when I try to log on (in Florida) I get a box saying my channels dvr could not be discovered. in settings I did enable the remote button. is this not going to work for me because I'm not physically there? On team viewer I was able to schedule recording on Northern dvr computer via Microsoft edge browser. I appreciate any help you can give me.

Does portchecker.co show 8089 as open?

You should be able to click Connect and select Away from Home

Tried it on my wife's phone and it worked. I think I have it from here
