Apple TV interlacing issues tvOS 15.4

Ever since the tvOS 15.4 update last Monday....I notice the Apple TV is not properly deinterlacing globally.

I see those "scan lines" in interlaced content, especially when i watch old shows like All in The Family on Amazon prime app, have been slowly watching that series and others the last several months, and never had this issue before.

Channels recorded the last new episode of South Park Wed night, and it was terrible with all the scan lines.

Not just Channels playback i notice the lines, but any streaming app on the Apple TV.

I just posted about this to the Apple Support forums, but, do not expect any helpful replies there, just copy paste generic troubleshooting things that already been done or not relevant.
There is a AppleTV redit page, but it is locked down so only users "with high karma" whatever that means, can post. And google searches on this, only find very old articles. Not sure if anyone else has this issue or not.

There are other "bugs" they seem to have added to this update....
The on screen Siri orb does not auto go away after triggering it.
Prime Video several times now has frozen on a video frame, but audio continues to play, after it plays an add. Can not back out to menu. Have to power cycle the Apple TV.

This seems to be some buggy release by Apple.
I would not recommend updating to it.

Please try the Experimental deinterlacer and see if it makes a difference.

That’s what I have been using

FWIW, I have 7 ATV's updated to 15.4 and am not seeing any of the above listed issues. Mix of 2nd gen 4K and HD 4th gen models.

Sounds like something is wrong with your TV or HDMI cable. Most content is not interlaced, so what you're seeing is not related to interlacing. The Apple TV player has never worked with interlaced content, and most streaming providers stream progressive only (and have converted old shows to progressive before they're streamed to you).

Nope didn’t do it before the update. Does it immediately afterward.

Forgot to save the recording of South Park that was so messed up with interlacing issue. It also played back on pc with the issue to. So in that case must have been the tve stream.

I play back the same streaming content via the same app on Xbox one s I have hooked up to the same display and has no issues.

I "fixed" my Prime Video issues of the adds causing the streamed video to freeze, by ENABLING my ad blocking DNS filter (Adguard Home) for the Apple TV. This prevents the ads from even playing. I have had the ATV set as excluded from filtering, as it prevents Paramount+ from streaming, despite what urls i set as allow.

As far as the interlacing issues, maybe was a bad batch of episodes, as i have moved on to S5 and it is playing fine with no lines, most of the time.

Still see issues with scan lines in other apps including Channels playback of OTA channels that are 1080i. No idea why Comedy Central was so bad on Wed still looks terrible, must be tve stream issue.
