AppleTV audio stutter

Hello,

I have an AppleTV with HomePod Stereo Pair. When connecting to HDHR streams, regardless of tuner sharing, their is an obvious packet loss that occurs every minute or so. The result is a slight stutter in audio (experimental driver) or we get a buffer (non-experimental buffer) that results in us always being behind the timeline; HTTP Logging looks ok. WiFi and network are not a problem as I’m currently watching an HDHR stream, from the official HDHR app, on the AppleTV with zero issue. It’s worth noting that I’ve been troubleshooting mpeg streams that are exhibiting the same behavior.

What gives?

You may want to try changing the audio decoder used on the Apple TV: within Channels go to Settings > Playback > Advanced > Audio Driver and change it to Experimental.

(The alternate audio driver has been known to fix issues with HomePods and Channels.)

I don't have any input, but I have some similar things going on with an AppleTV paired to a single HomePod.

In addition to the audio stutters, I will often have content, usually "Channels DVR Virtual Channels," keep playing on the HomePod after the Apple TV displays the screensaver and goes to sleep. Sometimes the video will stop playing as expected, but then start playing on the HomePod when I turn off the TV ("hey siri, turn off TV").

When this happens, the "Virtual Channel" is displayed in the Activity section in the Channels DVR web interface (Watching <show>, Episode 5 from Apple TV at 0s ) and it stays there until I restart Channels DVR entirely.
