After leaving multichannel on for a few hours, channels doesn't play anything beyond the first few frames. Netflix doesn't work either. I had to reboot twice in the last few weeks.

What model of the AppleTV? I have run multichannel for several hours without issues on a recent-generation AppleTV 4K. Also, for what it's worth: I was encountering an issue recently where one of my AppleTV's would stutter when playing back virtual channels. A reboot of the AppleTV would solve that problem for a little while, but it came back. Finally, I decided to do a 'Reset' on the AppleTV and haven't seen the problem since.
