Apps in Channels DVR or on NAS server

Ok I am not too technical on all this so please be gentle in your response.
Is there a way to link a streaming device in channels dvr to be like a channel in the guide? I want have access to a streaming app away from home, but it has restrictions about not being in the area. I currently access my channels app anywhere I go and watch my local new etc. if I am in Europe even. The app I want is for the Texas Ranger baseball game but there have blackouts if I go too far from home.
My other option would be installed the app on my qnap server as I have the channels dvr installed on it. I forgot how it did it but i did. Thinking if I can download the (QPKG) file I can install it then access by qnap while away from home and it would be like being at home and should be able to watch the game.
I appreciate any info anyone can provide
Thank you.

What you want is not possible. Channels can use a link within the app to open the streaming app of your choice to a particular program/movie, but that would be the app on your device; Channels cannot host the app from within itself.

What you are describing is that you want to circumvent geo-restrictions of certain streaming platforms, using Channels as the intermediary, which is not possible. Instead, you can attempt to use a VPN to get around those geo-blocks; however many(/most) streaming platforms actually blacklist the IPs belonging to VPNs.

(It should also be noted, that in most jurisdictions circumventing geo-restrictions is considered illegal. While I disagree with this personally and find the way copyright law is currently implemented absolutely anti-consumer, my opinions cannot supersede the law of where I am.)

Are you saying you have access to the app at home, but not when travelling?
If so, you can use tailscale to connect from your device to your home network, and use the device on your home network as an exit node. This will route all your traffic while away through your home network

I think what he is asking is how to get sports in channels dvr. if so try eplustv. it runs in portainer which runs on docker and should be compatible with a qnap nas.
