Archive shows for future use

I've been recording OTA a particular show (Monk) with many occurrences (old episodes). Now my Recordings list is full of these episodes, making it hard to find other daily recordings. I'd like to copy the Monk recordings to another location for future use (and delete from Recordings), but I don't want to lose the commercial skipping when I decide to watch them. Any suggestions?

Instead of the Recordings page, try the Library, where shows are grouped together, and sorted by their last update/recording by default.

To preserve commercial detection one can turn on EDL Export in the Integrations section of the server settings ui. It will create a .edl file for each newly scanned show. To get edl files for older recordings redetect commercials for the desired shows.

I've used this for copying the commercial skipping to other software like Kodi and even for Local Content within Channels DVR itself.

Consider Enhanced Browsing Mode for larger libraries.

You can also adjust the visibility mode of any show to Hidden to hide them from your library. You can still add them to a Library Collection or Virtual Channel and access them that way.

I can do that, but how do I re-import the edl files along with the video files into Channels?

Name the files the same as the video, but with the .edl extension. When Channels imports the video, it will also scan in the EDL and use it for commercial marking of your imported content.
