Are you going to introduce Channels DVR in the Netherlands? Happy to do some beta testing for you
We have not been able to obtain a guide data license for NL, so there are no immediate plans to launch the DVR there.
Too bad, thanks for quick response.
If you know of companies which provide guide data for NL, let us know and we will try to contact them for licensing.
OK, I’ve looked up some guide data providers. I found three so far:
- http://www.epgdata.tv/en/. I think this is the most complete guide provider, at least they provide the best information on their website. For example about the images http://www.epgdata.tv/en/images.
- http://api.tvgids.tv/. No information available what metadata they have, the site is in dutch and there is an e-mailadres to get more information.
- https://www.iptv-epg.com/. No information available what metadata they have but they do have a lot of channels for which they provide data (Not only dutch channels)
If you need any help with translating or contacting the companies, I’m always happy to help.
Thanks. I have contacted the first one since they have some English docs and offer images.
Sure. Let me know what they say.
Okay, I’ve sent an e-mail that Fancy Bits LLC is interested in making use of their epgdata service. I’ve sent it both to epgdata.tv and stoneroos.nl. Now wait and see what they say.
If this doesn’t work I can contact tvgids.tv and see if they have english documentation.
OK, two out of three provides striked out, no reaction on e-mails or over the telephone. But I found that the company who provides guide data for tvgids.nl is Bindinc. Metadata (https://www.bindinc.nl/metadata/en/). They are very interested to provide guide data, so that is good news. What I’ve seen from the website they also provide images, and other metadata like thematic selection (Olympic Games for example). They are asking for what channels you want to have guide data? I don’t know if you are familiar with the dutch TV market but I’m willing to help here.
(I’ve already requested if they can send me english documentation of their webservices)
