Is it possible to have Stretch To Fit options just for specific channels? I have to have it off for any 4:3 content delivered via Cable. However, when I try to watch HD subchannels like MeTV, Catchy Comedy, or Buzzr, the images are too vertically compressed to be watchable. I have to turn Stretch to Fit on for these channels to look correct. Is there an easy way to adjust for this?
Just floating this one up again to see if anyone had a solution?
The channels you listed are OTA subchannels. They are broadcast OTA in the correct aspect ratio already.... your cable co must be messing it up.
Depends on which station is broadcasting it.
I have some that broadcast SD 480i in 16:9 wide format and they look like stretch-o-vision.
Couple posts I found searching for "stretch-o-vision".
I'm speaking specifically about the OTA versions of some of these channels. The ones delivered by Cable are OK, but I'd like to not be tied to cable forever.
Yeah, I hate that local OTA broadcasters don't seem to know or care about stretching a channel that's obviously not intended to be stretched.
Just did a search to see if this was already being discussed and found this thread!
All my OTA channels are in the proper aspect ratio except for one. I have one subchannel that should be in 16:9 but is being broadcast in 4:3. So all the widescreen shows are squished to the old school square-ish aspect and, worse, all the 4:3 content (which it the majority of the channel's programming) is shrunk to a tall pillar shape!
I don't want to enable the stretch to fit option since every other channel is displaying properly. Being able to set the option just for this one channel would be ideal.
Yesssss it would still be amazing for this to be the case. I have several in my market, but it's certainly not all. Being able to set per channel would be ideal.
