Assigning TV channels to each tunner

I don't know if it's possible but going from my Tivo DVR experience I would like to be able to assign a TV channel to each of my 4 tuners so that when I open Channels DVR I have a buffer already in place. This is of course no guarantee that the channel I want to watch was one of the 4 channels the tuner was using. Just a thought.

While I think this would be a cool feature, I immediately see two huge problems with it:

  1. The buffer is stored at the client level, not with the tuner or DVR server.
  2. If you are using all of your tuners to buffer 100% of the time, you would never be able to record anything on your DVR because all of your tuners would be in use.
