ATV Recording Indicator

Just updated to the latest ATV beta and the show that was in progress of recording didn’t turn red in the guide to indicate it was recording. I had to kill the app and when it loaded again it fixed it and it was red. I think the same thing happened with my iOS app on my iPad too but I’m not 100% on that because I was checking if the guide was going to load the extended data. It didn’t still (known bug) but it did work after killing the app.

When you say “extended data” do you mean the metadata like Stereo, New, and CC?

Sorry I meant just the full guide data that you get with the DVR… beyond the four hour limit… when you scroll all the way to the right.

IE, data from the DVR server vs SD guide data that shows up if there’s no DVR detected.

Yeah it did after killing the app then next time it loaded up the extended data from the server.

Not that you have to squash every bug in every release but the other ones I reported are still around on my iPad running the latest iOS 11 beta. I sent the screenshots via email.

There is the “Scheduled Recording” tab one that has a big blank space on top of the list when I’ve scrolled down it, switched tabs, then switched back to the “DVR” tab.

Then there is still the bug of having a blank screen for the “Recordings” tab when swiping back from a “Recently Recorded” show. Usually happens on the second time I swipe back. Then I have to switch tabs and then switch back.

Yeah, that’s why it didn’t have the recording state. It didn’t have data from DVR. We’re still working on the reliability of it detecting the DVR server on start.

I still haven’t been able to replicate this one at all. Does the loader show, and then hide, with no content showing? Could you use the screen recording features of iOS 11 to show exactly what happens during this bug and email it to us? Thanks!

Dang. Just happened on my iPhone 6s on iOS 10 now too! Anytime I swipe back to the “Recordings” tab main view it gives me a blank screen! Ah! Yeah I can record it.

Sent the video! I swiped back and forth a few times before the video start FYI, it worked fine at first then it started disappearing which is what you see in the video.

The weird scrolling bug on Schedule is fixed in the beta rolling out right now.

The scrolling bug is still there in the latest beta :(. On both my iPad and iPhone.

Weird, are you sure it got updated? I can’t replicate it anymore. The cause of the bug was some nastiness while scrolling to the top whenever the view appeared again while also reloading. It no longer scrolls to the top anymore, so it shouldn’t have the weird gap anymore.

Oh sorry yeah that scrolling bug is fixed! I thought you were referring to the one where the recording screen goes blank. That’s the one that still is happening.

Yes, that one will prove to be the bane of my existence, I’m afraid. I’ve yet to replicate it :confused:

What’s weird is this bug is still there on my iPhone when I’m viewing the app on wifi. Then now on the new “remote view” feature of the beta it doesn’t have the bug! The “Recordings” page loads just fine every time I come back to it!

Sounds like some kind of race condition. I still don’t get why it’s doing that for you.
