Hello, running channels DVR on a mbp and watching on a 4th gen ATV 4k and iPhone 7+. After a couple days of setting it up, on the recordings screen, it shows boxes for recently recorded and up next, but no info, no picture of what show each box represents. Any ideas what to do here??
Thanks!
This also just starting happening for me as well. I have been running the DVR for a while in a Unraid docker. As of the last update, when I connect to the DVR web interface over the internet, I get a SSL error and none of the pictures are there for the recordings. However, if I connect to the DVR web interface on the same network, I get no error and see the pictures just fine. I have restarted the docker and that did not fix it…
Did some digging, it looks like the SSL certificate has expired for the website that the Channels Developers are using for the thumbnails. Nothing they can do except hope the creators of that website renew their certificate or find a new image site.
Thanks for the info, not great news for a service we are paying for… Hope we see a quick fix, I am currently in the “honey try this out” period to see if the the channels DVR is family friendly enough to get rid of our Tivo, this isn’t helping…
We contacted our guide provider about this issue yesterday morning when the https certificate first expired. Hoping for a quick fix today as they get back into the office.
This issue has been fixed. We are going to work on better caching in the app as well.
Verified it works again, thanks for the quick reply and fix!!
It is hard to believe that companies would not have a process in place that makes sure that crucial elements, like renewing a certificate or even a domain name do get renewed in a timely manner. A couple of years ago someone was able to register google.com, it didn’t last long but Google actually forgot to renew their domain name. Expired certificates is an even bigger problems, I come across them rather frequently including financial institutions. Traditionally mom and pop shops are always looked down at, compared to big corporate America, but yet they seem to operate with less then most mom and pop shops do.
Kudos here for Channels, contrary to some users I never really had any serious problem with he app, even on the beta releases and the support here is first class.
